Now Hiring - Director of Sales and Business Development in Roanoke, VA

Valcom enterprise communication systems are especially well suited for educational, retail and government facilities. From simple voice paging and intercom to expansive mass notification for emergency situations, Valcom products and software technology are currently used in thousands of businesses, government agencies, school districts, college campuses and transportation hubs around the world.

Valcom is expanding our sales team is searching for a talented and experienced Director of Sales to lead our field sales organization. We need a self-motivated professional with proven managerial experience and an outstanding track record in sales.

The Director of Sales is responsible for leading and managing a team of sales representatives and for achieving the sales goals of an organization. Specific duties and responsibilities of the sales director may include:

• Developing and implementing sales strategies and plans to achieve sales targets
• Managing and motivating a team of sales representatives to meet or exceed sales targets
• Setting sales quotas and goals for the team and tracking progress towards meeting those goals
• Analyzing sales data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement
• Collaborating with other departments, such as marketing and product development, to ensure alignment with sales efforts
• Providing ongoing training and development for team members to improve their sales skills
• Building and maintaining relationships with key clients and partners
• Assisting sales representatives in overcoming challenges and objections they may face during the sales process
• Conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback to team members
• Staying up to date with industry trends and developments to identify new sales opportunities
• Participating in sales meetings and presentations.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

-Minimum 5 years directing and managing a field sales organization.

-Sales experience with integrators and wholesale distributors in our industry/markets.

-Ability to provide strategic direction and guidance to the sales team.

-Ability to set the vision and direction of the sales force.

-Strong sales leadership skills – effective coach, motivator, and disciplinarian.

-Experience in complex solution sales.

-In depth knowledge of both analog and network-based communication systems.

-Technical background with emphasis in IT/networking would be helpful

-Goal oriented.

-Excellent communication and presentation skills.

-Positive attitude and proactive approach to people and situations

-Ability to make decisions quickly

-Needs a minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years managing a team.

-MBA preferred, but not required.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
